The Habitat 500 would never be the same without Jamie MacDonald’s ever-present repair truck. This year Jamie opened his own shop in Minneapolis. He keeps us on the road, he can keep you on the road -

About the Goofy Bikes

They are called recumbents.

Heidi rides a Bacchetta Giro, which is a certified D.N.B.

I ride a slightly modifed Burley Hepcat (2002 model year - the 2004 is way cooler!). The mod? Swapped out the stock handlebars for a set of Bacchetta "Tweener" bars. Yeah, I’m a geek.

If you are not curious about these goofy bikes, then don’t get me started. If you are curious, you can check out a wide range of models at Calhoun Cycle (and rent some by the hour at their rental shop). Call me when you go – I’ll tag along!
