Congress must continue to work towards providing affordable health insurance to the millions of Americans who go without health care, beginning with the children, and work to define and implement measures to contain health care costs. Congress should move as quickly as possible to restore the Social Security and Medicare surplus, as these programs are critical to the health of our seniors. And Congress should deliver on the promise made by both parties in the 2000 election campaign to provide a prescription drug benefit to seniors.
